Beware of Scam: Appointments Outside Office Hours

Tuesday / 01 October 2024

UNHCR has received reports of individuals receiving WhatsApp messages to come to the UNHCR office at night for UNHCR services.

This is a scam. UNHCR only gives appointments within office hours (Monday to Friday, 8AM to 4PM). Beware of individuals asking you to come to UNHCR for an appointment outside of office hours. These individuals are not connected to UNHCR and have no authority or ability to issue UNHCR appointments.

Please also note that all UNHCR services are free. UNHCR will never ask you for money. Be careful of individuals claiming to be able to help you obtain UNHCR documents, access UNHCR processes or fast-track your case in exchange for money. Do not share your personal information with them.

If you come across suspicious activities or individuals claiming to be able to provide UNHCR services (UNHCR documents, registration, RSD, resettlement, etc.) in exchange for money, report this to:

  • The police CCID Scam Response Centre at 03-26101559 or 03-26101599
  • UNHCR using this form

Your UNHCR card will not be cancelled and your case will not be delayed or closed if you report suspicious activities to UNHCR.
