Please note that all new registration requests must be submitted online exclusively through the contact form on the Refugee Malaysia website: https://refugeemalaysia.org/contact/
Registration requests sent through other channels (such as email or letters) cannot be processed.
If you have registration‑related enquiries about an online registration request you already submitted earlier, please contact UNHCR Malaysia’s Registration Unit by email at: mlslureg@unhcr.org.
If you have a long pending request for registration (ie. online application made before 01 Jan 2023), you may contact the Registration Hotline (017-6143810) which is available every Wednesday between 2-4 pm.
To protect your personal data and ensure your enquiry reaches the correct team, please always use the appropriate UNHCR communication channels as mentioned above.
Please do not send registration requests or personal information to:
- email addresses of other units within UNHCR Malaysia,
- email addresses of individual UNHCR Malaysia staff members,
- email accounts of other UN agencies or NGO partners, or
- any other third parties.
Using the correct channel helps to:
- protect your privacy and personal information,
- ensure your enquiry is handled by the proper team, and
- avoid delays or missed follow‑up
All UNHCR services, including Registration, are free of charge. There is no way to pay to expedite your application. Be careful of individuals claiming to be able to help you obtain UNHCR documents, access to UNHCR processes or fast-track your case in exchange for money. This is a scam.
For your own protection, please share personal or sensitive information only with the intended official UNHCR contact points. Sending your information to multiple and/or unknown email recipients may compromise your privacy.
Please also note that the UNHCR Registration Unit receives a high volume of emails every day. Responses may take time. We kindly request that you avoid sending multiple emails on the same issue, as duplicate messages slow down processing and may delay assistance for others with urgent needs.
Thank you for your understanding and cooperation.
