Due to the increase in COVID-19 cases, the Government of Malaysia has announced that the wearing of face masks in public places will be compulsory from 1 August 2020. Those who do not comply can be fined RM1,000 or put in jail.
Malaysia is still under the Recovery Movement Control Order (RMCO), and stern action will be taken on those who violate the terms of the RMCO. Kindly continue to practice steps to prevent COVID-19 from spreading, such as social distancing, washing your hands frequently, and ensuring proper usage of face masks.
