It is UNHCR’s pleasure to announce the opening of the Johor Outreach Community Centre (JOCC) on 3 August 2020. In partnership with NGO partner Cahaya Surya Bakti, the outreach centre is part of UNHCR’s efforts to address the challenges and expenses faced by refugees and asylum-seekers from other states who have to travel long distances to the UNHCR Representation in Kuala Lumpur for routine matters such as to access information and for document renewals.
Located in Kempas, Johor, the Centre will be managed by NGO partner Cahaya Surya Bakti (CSB) in partnership with UNHCR. Please note that the JOCC is not a UNHCR Field Office.
The JOCC will begin contacting refugees and asylum-seekers living in Johor to approach the Centre for document renewals. This will be done by appointment only. Those who approach the JOCC without an appointment will be asked to leave immediately.
